About us
Established in 1989, the Byron Bay Coffee Company is a family business dedicated to service, professionalism and producing only the finest quality coffee. We have a background in growing, harvesting and all facets of processing of coffee.
Our decision to specialise in roasting and blending, has opened up the fascinating world of beautiful and varied coffees we can choose from premium coffee growing countries. We understand the importance in selecting only quality green beans, with the emphasis on coffee from plantations certified by the Rain Forest Alliance Organisation. We also source the best Certified Organic and locally grown product, using only 100% Arabica.
Franco Ivancich and Bertrand Pommier are our qualified roasters with a wealth of experience and dedication. They have developed our superb multi award winning blends through extensive and thorough roasting and cupping trials. Each bean is roasted to produce the ultimate result…a coffee with richness, natural sweetness and clarity of flavour.
Franco has been roasting since 1995. His natural ability and passion were enhanced by training with a Sydney based roaster and later, training with Stephen Dietrich from Dietrich Roasters fame.
Bertrand Pommier came to us with four generations of coffee roasting experience. His family is from Dieppe in the North of France where they currently run their coffee roasting and retailing business. Bertrand shares the expertise and passion of his family’s coffee roasting heritage. We benefit from his knowledge and in the quality of coffee we provide to you, our friends and customers.

We compliment our wonderful coffee with making available to you quality plantation grown loose leaf teas and the most delicious chocolate coated espresso beans which come in Pure Dark, Pure Milk, Irish Cream (milk) and Grand Marnier (milk).
